Earlier this month, Land Rover officially revealed the Evoque convertible and also announced that it will be putting the posh cabriolet on sale in 2016. Well under development at present, the Evoque convertible has just been spotted testing on the road.
The Evoque convertible was first shown as a concept at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It featured a powered soft-top roof with a glass rear screen tucked under a plastic cover located behind the rear seats. We expect the same arrangement to be carried over to the production model. The soft-top arrangement means that the Evoque convertible will be heavier than the three-door vehicle.
Land Rover will announce further details about the Evoque convertible later this year. It will be built alongside the five-door and three-door Evoque at Land Rover’s Halewood plant in the UK and will be on sale in 2016.
