Range Rover has launched a convertible version of its baby Evoque crossover for the Indian market and has priced it at Rs 69.53 lakhs. It is a two-door, top down version and is only available as a petrol powered top of the line HSE Dynamic model in the country.
Given that this is a top-of-the-line model, it gets all the features and options that are present with the Evoque like multi-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, Land Rover Terrain Response system, heated front seats, WiFi hotspot and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. In terms of exteriors, you get all the snazzy looks of the Evoque, but now with the option to enjoy the wind in your hair.
Powering this Evoque convertible is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder motor producing 177bhp/340Nm. Power goes to all four-wheels via a nine-speed gearbox and the aforementioned Terrain Response system which is actually standard for all models of the Evoque.
It’s priced Rs 10 lakhs more than the equivalent HSE Dynamic diesel model with the hard top roof. In terms of direct competition you get the Wrangler which can be had as an open top model but it is priced Rs 12 lakhs lesser than the Evoque. You can also have the Mercedes-Benz GLE as well as the Porsche Macan in the R4 trim level.
