The fifth round of the Polo R Cup was recently held in Chennai. On the first day, Pune’s Oshan Kothadiya was 0.009 seconds faster than Vishnu Prasad (Chennai) in the qualifying session, giving him pole position in the first race on Sunday. Vishnu Prasad, facing a 10-place grid penalty for overtaking when the safety car was on the track in the previous round, will start in the 12th place. Guest driver Gaurav Daslal qualified third on the grid for the first race.
Mumbai lad Rahil Noorani won the Polo R Cup opening race on Sunday having started second on the grid. The second race was led from starting to end by Gaurav Dalal with Vishnu Prasad in hot pursuit. Rahil Noorani finished in 13th place finish in the afternoon and saw his lead in the championship being reduced to just three points over Vishnu Prasad (Chennai), setting the stage for an intriguing finale at the Buddh International Circuit next month.
