The almost production ready prototypes of the Fiat Argo have been spotted in Brazil and the car is expected to be launched next month. The Argo will replace the Fiat Punto as well as the Fiat Palio globally.
Built on the same Small Wide platform as the Fiat 500x and the Fiat Tipo, FCA will also build a sedan based on the Argo for the BRICS market. However, there is a very slim chance that Fiat might bring these cars to India to replace the fledgling Punto and the Linea.
In Brazil, Fiat will offer the Argo in three trims – Attractive, Essence and Sporting and three powertrain options – the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, the 1.3-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.8-litre diesel with a five-speed manual or five-speed automated manual gearbox option or a six-speed automatic.
