A production version of the Honda Concept D SUV has been spotted in production guise in China. It is likely to be called the UR-V and will be launched at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show this month. It is the Japanese automaker’s new SUV and will slot in above the CR-V in its vehicle lineup.
This production ready vehicle sports the same coupe SUV looks as the concept car although in a more sane design. The wheels are smaller and the roof is a little less pronounced at the rear but the resemblance is all too common to the Concept D vehicle.
For now it will be launched only for the Chinese market but we believe that it will become a part of Honda’s global range by the end of the year. It is expected to be offered with the 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre for the Chinese markets. Globally though we can also expect the 2.0-litre diesel engine that currently powers the Accord and CR-V.
As for the Indian market, we are unlikely to get this car before Honda launches the Accord and possibly the HR-V also.
