The upcoming Chevrolet Beat has been spied undisguised, revealing the final design for the first time. The exterior is inline with the Beat Essentia and Beat Active that the carmaker displayed at the Auto Expo at the start of this year.
The new spyshots reveal the new design for the headlamps, a sleek grille with chrome accents and a new front bumper with fog lamps. The fascia is exactly identical to that of the Essentia sedan showed at the Auto Expo. We can see revised tail lamps and a completely new bumper housing the registration plate. The current Beat has the number plate on the tail gate.
We expect the current powertain options on the Chevy Beat to continue on the new hatchback. The oil-burner makes use of a 1.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 57bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. On the other hand, the petrol uses a a 1.2-litre petrol mill that develops 79bhp of power and 108Nm of torque. The engines will come mate d to a five-speed manual gearbox.
We can expect Chevrolet to launch the new Beat early next year. This model is amongst the five cars (Essentia, Beat Activ, Trailblazer and the next-gen Cruze) that the carmaker plans to launch in the next two years. The new Beat will compete with the Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio when launched in India.
