After a double victory in 2006 and a triple victory in 2007, the Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia has filled in the first six positions of the 2008 edition of the Rally.
Overall honours went to Team France's Christian Lavieille and Francois Borsotto, who finished the race two hours ahead of second placed Pau Soler and Laia Peinado. Armin Schwarz and Andi Schulz filled up the podium, and entertained spectators on the last day by trying to catch Soler and Peinado, who had a mere 13-minute lead over them. They managed to overtake nine vehicles on the tracks near Mongol Els, but it wasn't enough for second place.
The Transsyberia Rally is widely considered to be one of the toughest off-roading events in the world. This year's Transsyberia Rally started on 11th July on Moscow’s Red Square and finished on 25th July in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar after a total of over 7,000 kilometres.
