Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne Turbo S. The seventh and most expensive addition to the German sportscar makers SUV family, the Cayenne Turbo S packs 50bhp more in its punch and gets a large list of new extra equipment over its turbo sibling.
The Cayenne Turbo S is powered by a new 4.8-litre V8 engine which produces 550bhp and an astronomical 749Nm of torque allowing it to sprint from zero to hundred in just 4.3 seconds. The company has claimed a top speed of 281 kmph. This is the same engine that powers to S version of the Panamera sedan.
To cope with the increase in performance, Porsche has equipped the Turbo S with all the features that come as extra on the Cayenne Turbo. This list includes the Dynamic Chassis Control, Torque Vectoring Plus, Power Steering Plus and an air suspension coupled with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
On the outside, Porsche has given the Turbo S a gloss black trim to the air intakes and ORVMs. 21 inch alloy wheels modeled on the lines of the ones found in the 911 Turbo II and aluminium quad exhausts come as a part of the cars makeover.
The SUV gets a two-tone leather interior package, Alacantra covered roof as well as carbon fibre dashboard and door trim on the inside. The Cayenne S will go on sales in America in mid- 2013 for 146,000 Dollars (Rs 77.26 lakh).
While this model is not likely to make its way to the Indian shores anytime soon, we can expect the Cayenne Turbo diesel S to come here after its European launch in January 2013.
