Porsche has taken the wraps off the facelifted 911 coupe ahead of its official debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The iconic German sports car is now turbocharged across its entire range and also gets cosmetic updates.
The new engine is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre flat-six producing 365bhp and 450Nm of torque in the Carrera and 415bhp and 500Nm of torque in the Carrera S.
It can be had with either a seven-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch unit. O-100kmph can be sprinted to in 4.2 seconds in the Carrera and 3.9 seconds in the Carrera S. They have also got increased top speed of 294kmph and 307kmph respectively.
On the cosmetic front, this facelifted 911 range now gets new headlamps, tail lamps and active air ducts that aid in improving cooling. The rear also gets a redesigned air vent to channel more air to the engine, intercoolers and turbochargers. The wheels too have a new design and add more muscle to the side profile.
The cabin remains the same in terms of layout but now gains the Porsche Communication Management System which features a seven-inch touchscreen system, gesture control, Apple Car Play compatibility as well as Google Earth and Streetview.
The car will be officially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and will then go on sale for various European markets by the early next year. Since we in India get our Porsches via the CBU route, this new model will be offered for the local market as soon as it launched globally.
