Porsche is planning to soon launch the entry-level Macan for the Indian market. This model will use the 252PS 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
This motor comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system is standard. On paper, this entry model of the Macan will then become the least powerful one in the Macan range in India. Nevertheless, the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill churns out 250bhp of power and 370Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0-100kmph in 6.7seconds. And, a top speed of 229kmph is not at all bad for the SUV.
The current Macan models are priced from Rs 1 crore – Rs 1.11 crore, where the Cayenne models also start. It was seen that the customers opted for the larger Cayenne in almost the same price bracket. So the Stuttgart-based manufacturer might price the Macan's 2.0-litre variant at Rs 97-98 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
