Until the time Porsche comes up with a Turbo S variant on the Macan, the carmaker will offer a Performance Package for those buyers who are adamant about sporting more power on their Macan Turbo. It is purely available on order for 10,445 USD (Rs 6.97 lakh).
So what’s new about the Performance Package? Porsche claims that this package bumps up the power over the Turbo model (400bhp and 550Nm) by an additional 40bhp and 49Nm of torque. The car maker claims that the 440bhp coupled with 600Nm of torque helps the 3.6-litre V6 in the Macan Turbo (with performance package) achieve the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.2sec, 0.2sec faster than the regular model. Top speed has also increased to 272kmph, an increase of 8kmph.
Hang on, that’s not all. This package also makes use of Porsche’s new brakes, a sport exhaust system and a lowered sport chassis. The grooved brake discs mounted in the front are larger in diameter (30mm), and now work with a six-piston calliper that’s finished in sporty red. This version will sit 10mm lower than the regular Turbo model and will also get the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system that incorporates an air suspension. The package also includes 21-inch wheels in glossy black and adaptive LED headlights, to name a few.
Porsche India has not released any official statement about this package, but their website does mention this version tagged to a ‘to be announced’ badge.
