Money can buy everything, but it cannot get you a Porsche Macan this year. Porsche’s new mini SUV, the Macan, has exceeded the company’s expectations as it has been declared ‘sold out.’ This tremendous response has forced the German sports car maker to revise its sales and production targets.
Porsche set a sales target of 50,000 units for the Macan in the initial year of its launch, this figure was attained in less than two months of its launch. The first Macan is yet to reach its owner and the deliveries will commence from April onwards.
Porsche plans to hike its production capacity this year to 80,000 units to cater to the overwhelming demand for its sports SUV. Porsche has high hopes with the Macan (currently highest selling Porsche) and expects the SUV to create a new record for sales in 2014, their global deliveries are at an all-time high of 1,62,145 units for 2013.
