Porsche launches Boxster GTS for Rs 1.12 crore and Cayman GTS for Rs 1.15 crore

Porsche has launched the Boxster and the Cayman in GTS guise for the Indian market. The Boxster GTS is priced at Rs 1.12 crore and Cayman GTS is priced at Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom Maharashtra).

The top mid-engine sports cars with more powerful engines and adaptive chassis are now available in India. The German carmaker has labeled these cars as the GTS versions, where the GTS moniker stands for Grand Turismo Sport. Such cars are usually made available with a slight increase in power with adjustments in the aerodynamics and stiffened suspension.

Coming to the mechanical changes, the Boxster GTS and the Cayman GTS get a power hike of 14.8bhp and 10Nm of torque. The 3.4-litre engine powering the Boxster GTS now makes 325bhp of power and 370Nm of torque, while the powerplant in the Cayman now produces 335bhp of power and a torque of 380Nm. Both the cars get an optional seven-speed PDK gearbox. The Boxster GTS can sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds and does a top speed of 278kmph. The Cayman, on the other hand, does the 0-100kmph sprint in 4.6 seconds and achieves a top speed of 283kmph.

Apart from the uprated engines, the cars also feature Porsche's new Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis and are available with a Sports Chrono Package. With the GTS badge, the cars feature bi-xenon headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, black-chrome dual exhaust pipes and get black inserts on the front bumper. This is the first time Porsche has extended their GTS principle to the Boxster and Cayman.
