Premium performance car manufacturer Porsche will be introducing its electric vehicle in India by the beginning of 2020. It is believed that the company might mark its entry in the electric vehicle category with the Mission E, which was showcased as a concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015. Prior to its India debut, Porsche will be launching the fully electric vehicle internationally sometime towards the end of 2019.
Codenamed Porsche J1, the Mission E concept gets two electric motors, one for each axle. Reports indicate that both the electric motors generate a power output figure of around 592bhp. The electric vehicle is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in just about 3.5 seconds and is capable of clocking 200kmph in under 12 seconds. The company has not revealed battery capacity yet, however, it is believed that it might offer a range of over 500kms. Moreover, with a quick charging facility, it is capable of achieving 80 per cent in less than 15 minutes.
More details on Porsche’s upcoming all-electric vehicle will be known over the next few months. To be manufactured at the company’s facility in Zuffenhausen, Germany, the vehicle is expected to arrive in India via the CBU route.
