When you talk about race cars, Porsche is right up there in the list with some of the most iconic machines that the world has seen. In a bid to recreate the magic, Porsche decided to dress up five Macans in their most famous racing garbs.
Each of the liveries here represents some form of Porsche Le Mans race car and why not? After all Porsche has won Le Mans more times than any other manufacturer or team on the planet. The German automaker took the five Macans to Singapore to photograph them in some of the city-state's most iconic locations. The most popular was the Martini colours. The white, red and blue Martini Racing livery covered everything from the Porsche 917 in Le Mans to some of the automakers efforts in rally and touring car.
Another popular livery was the Rothmans livery which because of cigarette adverts banned in most places does not get the company's logo anywhere but even without the logo, ,the colours are unmistakable. There’s a bright pink one too, replicating the ‘pink pig’ which was an experimental Porsche 917/20. The red Macan in the pic wears the Salzburg design, while last remaining one wears the iconic pale blue and orange of Gulf Oil. We just wish Porsche offered these liveries as an option in the Macan and their other sportscars.
