The Porsche 911 GT2 has returned to the Nurburgring for performance tests after it was last spotted in January this year.
This time around, the car seems to be in production guise with very little disguise and the prototype seen in the pictures wears a similar front fascia as the 911 GT3 RS. What’s new here though, is the two little carbon fibre winglets at each end of the front bumper that slide upward from the large splitter. There’s a lot under development at the rear too, which is evident from the temporary fixtures on the huge spoiler, the still-to-be-designed rear bumper that holds the large exhausts, and the temporary grille for the rear-engine radiator.
Speaking about rear-engine, this monster has a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre six-cylinder motor strapped on to it, much like in the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S. Meanwhile, sources believe that Porsche may have been able to successfully extract at least 600bhp from this powertrain, and all that power will be unleashed via the rear axle. The highlight here though, is that the 911 GT2 may also get the rear-wheel steering too.
