Porsche might introduce another model into their line-up which currently stands at six. The news was confirmed by company chief Matthais Müller.
Müller speaking at the launch of the Macan said, “I think a seven model series would be a good line-up because most cars have a seven-year life cycle." And also claimed,"If we had seven models we could have a major event each year, as well as the variants.”
Müller said the existing Porsche line-up already has six models, owing to the recent introduction of the advanced petrol-electric hybrid powered 918 Spyder. “If you include the super sports car we have six models in the line-up.”
He was tight-lipped on what the seventh model would be, but according to a leading UK-based publication it could be a sedan to rival the likes of BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class. The new sedan could be based on the new second generation MLB (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) worked on by Audi.
Porsche certainly would benefit from the addition of a sedan when it comes to sales figures. There is a certain curiosity building up on as to how the car will look like.
