Our spy photographers have shot the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS testing without any camouflage. This version will join the present line-up which consists of the standard and the S version.
While the front-end of the upcoming 718 Cayman GTS now incorporate larger air intakes, the rear portion of the car reveals a re-designed diffuser that also holds centrally-positioned twin exhausts. There’s also a pair of tail lamps with revised ‘misty’ internals that blend with this shade of the car.
Power for the 718 Cayman GTS will come from the same turbocharged 2.5-litre motor that makes 350bhp in the S version. However, expect the engine to be tweaked to make an extra 20bhp over its ‘S’ sibling. The upcoming GTS could also receive suspension upgrades, larger alloy wheels and stronger brakes to cope with the extra performance on tap.
Sources state that the extra output from the motor in the GTS will make it marginally quicker to reach 100kmph than the current 718 Cayman S, and it should post a higher top speed too. Porsche might showcase the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. So keep checking this page for further details.
