The all-new Porsche Cayman GT4 has been spotted in Germany, ahead of its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The GT4 is expected to be the most extreme version of the mid-engined, two-seat Cayman which has been around for many years now.
The GT4 shares its components and genetic spirit with the iconic 911 GT3. The engine, chassis, brakes and aerodynamic design have been configured for maximum driving dynamics. The GT4, as a result, can lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 7 minutes and 40 seconds.
The Cayman GT4 is powered by a mid-mounted, 3.8-litre flat-six engine producing 385bhp. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual gearbox with dynamic gearbox mounts. Porsche isn’t offering PDK transmission option with the new Cayman GT4. The 911 Carrera S-derived engine allows the GT4 to acceleration from zero to 100kmph in 4.4 seconds and onto a top speed of nearly 300kmph.
The new Cayman GT4 will make its world debut next month at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, before going on sale globally later this year.
