Just recently after breaking records with the mental GT2 RS, Porsche has claimed another record at the ‘Ring. It used its Panamera Sport Turismo and towed a classic junior Porsche tractor around the race course in just 12:06 seconds and hit over 180kmph while at it.
Now there were a lot of quick cars scorching the Nurburgring this year which include the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, Mercedes-AMG E63S Estate and not to forget the ballistic Lamborghini Huracan Performante. While these cars managed phenomenal lap times, none had a trailer hanging off their backs. The Panamera definitely had the oomph to pull this feat thanks to its twin-turbocharged V8 that puts out 550bhp across all four wheels and can sprint to 100kmph in just 3.6 seconds. Now that’s some serious capability for a station wagon.
Will this trigger a hauling records of sorts? We don’t think so, but what we can say is that this is definitely a more entertaining way of setting records and still highlight the capability of a car to the hilt!
