Porsche is planning to develop an E-Class competitor, which will in essence be the Panamera's baby brother. The model will launch in 2017, and power will be derived from four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines from the VW group. A hybrid version is a likelihood, and a diesel wouldn't be a bad idea if it can meet Porsche's lofty standards of NVH. The Pajun sedan will be joined by an estate-like shooting brake.
The Pajun is, according to the company, one of a few models under consideration for the manufacturer. It is a good option, but Porsche better have a performance version in the works as well, what with the likes of the BMW M5, Mercedes E63 AMG, Audi S6 and Jaguar XFR to beat at its own game - sportiness.
