For this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Porsche seems to be putting the emphasis on its return to the highest level of sports car racing - World Endurance Championship and Le Mans 24 Hours. The highlight of the Porsche stand will be the new 919 hybrid and the 911 RSR race cars designed and developed specifically for endurance racing.
The 919 Hybrid will be seen competing in the top LMP1 category of the World Endurance Championship in 2014, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the undisputed highlight of the season. Giving company to the LMP1 race car on the stage will be the 911 RSR, which will also be racing in all eight rounds of the WEC this season, in the GT category.
Besides both these race cars, Porsche will also be showcasing the S diesel model of the Macan for the first time. The diesel model, featuring a turbocharged 258hp engine with PDK gearbox, lines up alongside the two petrol-engined models: the 340hp 3-litre V6 Macan S and 400hp 3.6-litre V6 Macan Turbo.
