When Porsche unveiled the facelifted 911 Carrera range with turbocharging last year, the hard-core GT3 did not receive the same makeover. However, that’s about to change soon as the brand has been caught testing a mildly updated version of the 911 GT3.
The facelift will be limited to revisions to the front bumper, headlights and probably the taillights as well. Unlike the new Carrera models, the GT3 will continue to be powered by a screaming naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six engine.
As a reminder, the GT3 is the track-focused hard-core version of the regular 911 range complete with a motorsport-derived engine and a massive rear spoiler. The flat-six engine is paired to Porsche’s quick-shifting PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Sadly, the latest-gen 911 GT3 and the GT3 RS do not come with a manual gearbox option.
