Post the new 911 launch in India, Porsche plans launching the much awaited 718 and the Macan compact SUV with a 2.0-litre engine. As revealed by sources, the new cars will be launched before the end of 2016.
Under the hood, the upcoming Porsche 718 will be powered by a 2.0-litre engine which will put out 296bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. The company claims that the car will be capable of achieving a top speed of 275kmph, while its acceleration from 0-100kmph will be at about 5.1 seconds. As for fuel efficiency, Porsche claims that the 718 might return between 10 - 14kmpl.
The upcoming Porsche 718 will be loaded with modern safety features like - Engine immobiliser with in-key transponder, central locking and remote control, Porsche side impact protection (POSIP), comprising side-impact protection elements in each door, thorax airbag in each outer backrest side bolster and head airbag for driver and passenger in each door panel, alarm system and full-size airbags for driver and passenger.
On the other hand, the Macan compact SUV will also get a smaller 2.0-litre engine which will generate 249bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Porsche claims that the new Macan is capable of achieving a top speed of 223kmph and accelerates from 0-100kmph in about 6.9 seconds. In terms of fuel efficiency figures, the company claims that the car will return a fuel efficiency figure between 11 – 14 kmpl.
As for safety, the new Macan compact SUV, will be offered with Belt warning device for the driver and all passenger seats (front and rear), side impact protection beams in doors, bumpers comprising high-strength cross members and two deformation elements each with two threaded fixture points for the towing eye contained in the on-board tool kit. It will also have three-point automatic seat belts, seat belt pretensioners (driver and front passenger, outer rear seats) and force limiters, manually adjustable seat belt height, full-size airbags for driver and front passenger, curtain airbags along entire roof frame and side windows from the A-pillar to the C-pillar and more.
