Pune’s Oshan Kothadiya saw the two varying emotions on Sunday. He won the Polo R Cup race in the morning to take the lead in the drivers’ standings ahead of Chennai’s Vishnu Prasad. His dreams of consolidating the advantage went bust in the afternoon when he went out of the race with a mechanical failure moments after the start when he was bumped off the track.
Contrastingly, Vishnu Prasad started the morning race 11th after being penalised by the stewards for an infringement last month and managed a fifth place finish. Starting fourth in the afternoon race, he found his way through some early traffic to put himself in place to regain the championship lead. But like Ameya Walawalkar in the Formula LGB Swift class, he too will have to await a decision of the stewards as the race is under investigation.
Bollywood actor Purab Kohli won the Polo R Cup race for Corporate Bosses, ahead of FMSCI President Vicky Chandhok who led the race till the last lap.
