Pininfarina, the fabled Italian automotive design house, has released another set of teaser images of their all-new electric hypercar currently dubbed as the PFO. With ex-F1 driver Nick Heidfeld and a Formula-E driver helping with the development, the PFO is being built to be a pure performance machine rather than just a looker.
And, for that matter, it certainly is a looker. The low slung coupe seems like it is slammed into the ground with the steeply raked windshield and the exposed fenders. The arrow shaped wing in the front doubles up as the bumper while the slit bonnet is pure aerodynamics. With the LED lamps in the front and the back and the raucous lines, the PFO does look racy even in the scantily lit teaser images.
Speaking about performance, the four electric motors churn out no less than 2000bhp of power. With the lightweight construction, extreme aero and Spartan interior, it will dash to 100kmph in less than two seconds and will fly past you at the top whack of over 400kmph. To be a bold statement in automotive performance, especially electric, it will also be able to take you on a 500km trip on a single charge.
It is said that the car will be offered to the automotive elite at the exclusive Monterey Car Week next month. The price is estimated to hover around the 2.5 million dollars (approx. Rs 18 crores) and will begin deliveries in 2020.
