Pictures of the eagerly awaited Jaguar F-type have been revealed by the British manufacturer ahead of its debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. According to the pictures Jaguar has based the new convertible sports car on the stunning C-X16 concept vehicle that it revealed in the recent past.
The car is expected to be powered by two types of petrol engines; a base model 3-litre V6 producing 275bhp or in a supercharged form that will produce 375bhp. Buyers are likely to get the option of a 5 litre V8 whose output will be around 510bhp. All models will have an 8 speed gearbox and will send power to the rear wheels.
The F-Type has been designed with features that make its appearance similar to other models in the Jaguar range like the large rectangular grille and flared haunches and an aluminium monocoque which is expected to make it light and rigid. On the inside we can expect to find start-stop technology for lower fuel consumption and emissions.
The new vehicle is likely to debut globally in mid-2013 and will cost GBP 55,000. We expect that Jaguar will bring the car to India at the end of 2013 in CBU form where it will slot in below the XKR.
