Shortly after teasing it, Lamborghini has unveiled the Huracan Spyder at the gleaming show floor of this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. This new model is essentially an open top Huracan that looks and performs just as the well as the Huracan coupe.
The Huracan Spyder uses an electrohydraulic soft top that can be opened and closed in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50 kmph. Lamborghini is offering black, brown and red hue options for the fabric roof.
This open-top model uses the standard model’s 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces 610bhp/560Nm and allows the Huracan Spyder to accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 3.4 seconds.
Not that it will be of any concern for the buyers of this car, but the Huracan Spyder has a combined fuel efficiency of around 7kmpl, thanks to fuel-saving tech like start/stop system and cylinder on demand.
Lamborghini will start selling the Huracan Spyder by March next year. When launched, the car will compete with the Ferrari 488 Spider and McLaren 650S Spider.
