We spent some time with the soon to be launched Chevrolet Trailblazer in India. Here is a detailed photo gallery of the seven-seater SUV that competes with the Toyota Fortuner and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
The Trailblazer is the largest SUV in its segment measuring 4,878mm in length and 1,838mm in width. The SUV has very conventional Chevy styling with a split grille and large bowtie logo at the front.
This is a large car with a simple design is simple. The edges are rounded and it has an aggressive face. Its premiumness enhanced by the projector headlamp unit and the overall quality of the exterior.
The interior is mainly beige in colour, but the dashboard gets black treatment. The top part of the dash gets matte black while the centre console gets premium piano black inserts.
The cabin offers plenty of utility. There are four closed stowage bins at the front and five cup and bottle holders. The leather upholstery looks premium, but the quality of few inserts could have been better.
It gets cruise control, touch-screen music system, climate control, rear parking assist, six-way adjustable power seat for the driver and basic safety features including dual airbags, ABS-EBD and traction control.
The full-sized SUV is powered by the 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with VGT turbocharge, tuned to deliver 200bhp and 500Nm of torque. It uses six-speed automatic transmission that powers the rear-wheels.
The Trailblazer will be available in India, only in the LTZ variant with RWD and automatic transmission. Chevy is expected to launch the car by mid-October with a price tag of around Rs 27 lakh.
