As the McLaren 650S completes over a year and a half of existence in the supercar arena, McLaren has announced a series of updates for the Ferrari 488 challenger. For 2016, the British sports car brand has added a lot of equipment as standard for the 650S and also introduced new colour options.
Previously offered as optional extras, external bits like carbon fibre front splitter, side skirts, intakes, rear bumper, and mirror casings will now come as standard in the 2016 650S.
Besides the added equipment, McLaren has also introduced ten new exterior colour options for the 650S Coupe and 650S Spider.
The 2016 650S borrows the existing model’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that pushes out 641bhp of power and 680Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The additional features are being offered with a price hike of $4,000 (Rs 2.64 lakh). In USA, prices for the Coupe start at $271,900 (Rs 1.79 crore), while the Spider costs around $286,900 (Rs 1.89 crore).
McLaren has made it official that it will start delivering the 2016 model year 650S starting December this year.
