PSA Peugeot Citroen and AllurGroup have collaborated to assemble their cars in Kazakhstan. The company also confirmed that their average production volume from 2017 is expected to be 12,000 units annually and can be expanded to 17,000.
The two companies signed an agreement which will enable the production and distribution of vehicles in Kazakhstan. AllurGroup will start the assembly of vehicles at the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant in Kostanay and the Peugeot 301 will be the first car that will roll out of the production line at this facility in September 2016. This vehicle is currently the best-selling car in Kazakhstan.
Peugeot was looking to make an entry to India considering it to be an important car market for the company. After the manufacturer's exit in 1997, they made an attempt to re-enter our country in 2011 with an investment for a plant in Sanand in Gujarat. But the carmaker put this project on hold since it wanted to focus on its home markets and financial affairs.
