After a comprehensive set of teasers, French auto giant Peugeot has unveiled its Vision Gran Turismo concept for the PlayStation video game Gran Turismo 6. Boasting a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio (875 kilograms and 875bhp), this new model is one of the fastest cars in the popular racing simulation franchise.
Sitting just 104cm off the ground, the Vision Gran Turismo features a striking monolithic silhouette, designed to sweep aside air resistance. With the notable absence of nearly any aerodynamic components, Peugeot says the body shell alone is enough to effectively stick the car to the road.
The central 3.2-litre turbo V6 engine feeds its 875bhp to the ground via a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. This, coupled with the lightweight design allows it to accelerate from zero to 100kmph in just 1.73 seconds.
Peugeot has revealed that gamers will be able to virtually drive the Vision Gran Turismo in the near future on up to 40 race tracks with 107 different layouts. The vehicle will be released as a part of a free update for Gran Turismo 6.
