The state-owned oil companies recalibrated rates to reflect change in local levies, resulting in slight change in rates of petroleum products. Petrol and diesel prices are up in 7 states, while LPG cost is up six states after the revision. The change has also reduced petrol and diesel prices in 11 states and LPG rates in 12 states.
Among metro cities – the rates will remain untouched in Delhi; while it will cost Rs 75.14 and Rs 45.28 in Mumbai – up by Rs 0.91 and Rs 0.89 respectively. Similarly, Kolkata has also seen a hike of Rs 2.52 and Rs 0.92, and will now cost Rs 76.13 and Rs 44.66. Chennai is the only tier- I city to get a price cut of Rs 0.97 and Rs 0.12 (Petrol Rs 72.19 and Diesel Rs 43.83).
The domestic LPG rates are also up in states like Maharashtra, Bihar and Assam, while they have dipped a bit in few states including Gujarat, West Bengal, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
