Petrol and diesel prices are again on the move and sorry to say it isn’t downwards. With effect from midnight petrol prices will be raised by Rs.3.13 per litre and diesel prices will see an increase by Rs.2.71 per litre.
It comes soon after the April respite wherein the prices of petrol and diesel had been slashed by 49 paise per litre and Rs 1.21 per litre. The reason being the increase in international crude prices and rupee depreciation.
The last increase in prices, however, was not far behind. It was in February this year when the petrol price was hiked by Rs 3.18 per litre and diesel by Rs 3.09. Then it was due to the rising international oil prices.
Well, seems like the rise and fall of the prices is bound to continue and it is we the consumers who will have to plan our budgets accordingly. Not a great news for the weekend and it’s time again for the petrol pumps to do brisk business.
