The Ferrari FF is a unique vehicle in the Italian supercarmaker’s range as it is their first shooting brake/ estate car. However, what makes it unique is that it is also their first four-wheel-drive car, albeit with a rather complicated four-wheel drive system involving two gearboxes. Now, patent drawings have revealed that the Ferrari seems to be working on a more hardcore two-seater version, seemingly a tad bit smaller in size but without the loss of power.
We expect that its interiors will be more race-oriented and might just lose some of the luxury features as has been the case with ‘performance-oriented’ models from the Italian automaker. The engine line-up and other underpinnings are all expected to be the same as the standard car which means it will be powerful but in a rather controlled way. Same as the car with all four-wheel drive performance cars.
Reports also suggest that this could be a special model designed for one customer and this leads us to believe that it could also be a part of Ferrari’s famed FXX development programme. While not much else is known, we would like to speculate on the name of the car. The FF stands for ‘For four’ so if this loses two seats, it might just be called the Ferrari ‘FT’ or the Ferrari ‘F2’.
