Parth Ghorpade won the second race of Round 4 of the Volkswagen-JK Tyre Polo Cup India 2010 at the Irungattukottai Race Track, Chennai. Mumbai driver Mohammed Fahad Kutty finished in second position ahead of Imran Majid. Ghorpade completed the race in 3.717 km track in a time 25:13.862 to win his second race of the season. The young driver from Vizag, Sailesh Bolisetti went on to win the first round of the Round 4 of the Volkswagen JK Tyre Polo Cup India.
Gert Bergmann, Member of the Board of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd. commented, "It was a great to be at the Chennai circuit to watch my first Polo Cup race in India. It was a thrilling experience and I'm sure it was not the last Polo Cup race I will watch. The Volkswagen Motorsport team has been doing a great job and I am glad to see all the drivers giving it their all over here. Volkswagen is very happy to be associated with motorsports in the country and looking forward to the rest of the Championship."
The 17 year old winner, Parth, too had a say in this. He said, "It’s a good feeling being on podium again. Chennai is definitely a faster track and present different challenges from racing in Coimbatore. I would like to thank the Volkswagen team for their training that has surely helped me get to this position."
From this round, two more new drivers Sneha Sharma and Shrivatsa Sinha will be the racing for the rest of the Polo Cup. Sneha Sharma went to finish 18th in the second race, whereas Shrivatsa didn't finish the race, as he met with collision.
The next race of the Polo Cup will be held on the 27th and 28th of November in Chennai. The talented drivers will get yet another chance to display their skills and give some stiff competition to the leaders in the Championship.
