- Inspired by the Peugeot 504 Coupe
- Gets autonomous driving technology, retro styling and modern cues
Electric cars have slowly started normalising into everyday cars rather than being objects that are made to stand out for being different. And one of the biggest influencers of this change has been the retro-electric designs that have started coming up. When you have the unmatched French legacy of automotive design reviving the immortal lines of Pininfarina, magic is bound to happen.
With the E-Legend concept, that made its debut at the Paris Auto Show - Peugeot’s home turf, the French car maker has showcased that electric future does not need to be weird or boring. Paying tribute to the 504 Coupe, one of their icons, Peugeot has almost built a Tesla-rival with 400bhp of power and almost 800Nm of torque on tap.
It sprints to 100kmph in less than 4 seconds and with the 100KW battery should be good for a healthy range in a single charge. Being a concept, the interior is outright futuristic with a foldable rectangular steering, the large LCD screen across the dash and the colours, materials and finishes.
Peugeot’s all-new Indian innings is all set to begin in about a year. If they see this kind of a future of cars across the globe, we are all ears!
