Pagani, known for its exotic supercars and hypercars, seems to have set a new record for a new car price tag, except probably for one-offs. Because this Zonda, without a roof, will cost you no less than 15 million Euros (approx. Rs 120 crores) and that too, without taxation.
Well, only three of these are being made – one for Horacio Pagani, the car that made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the other two, as expected, have already been sold.
The Barchetta (which means roofless in Italian), has its entire body, the chassis and almost all its components built out of carbon fibre. Horacio’s car is gets a blue hue and we will have to wait and see what the other two cars get. The circular windshield gets chopped with shorter A-pillars and the window glasses blending into the bodywork.
And yes, it also has a roof-scoop. But with no roof to rest it on, Pagani has designed a unique intake with a floating scoop that looks absolutely mad.
This super-light chassis is powered by the legendary 7.3-litre V12 from Mercedes and with two turbochargers pumping in more air, it develops 789bhp of power, same as the bonkers Pagani Huayra BC. Even the suspension setup is similar along with the brake setup and the alloys.
Well, no one can now get the Pagani Zonda HF Barchetta. But, we can always admire and drool over its pictures!
