It has been a while since Pagani brought out the quite insane Huayra as a successor to its sensational Zonda. With the model reaching its 6th anniversary, Pagani has decided to celebrate the occasion with an open top model. It will be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
There are two set of teasers released by the Italian marque, one of which reveals nothing but a cladded nose of the car which is seldom different from the standard Huayra. The second teaser, however (which also has a holiday greeting) gives a plain view of the camouflaged Roadster sans the roof. The type of the roof the Roadster will opt for is expected to be a panel design like the one on Zonda Roadster.
The Roadster is expected to get the same aerodynamic body kit as its hard top sibling and so the weight difference between the two, due to the enforcements, will be minimal. The new Roadster can incorporate some of the Huayra BC’s weight-saving techniques, like the carbon-fibre monocoque construction, full titanium exhaust, ultra-light suspension and brakes.
Powering the Roadster will be the same mighty biturbo 6.0-litre V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG with 730bhp and a whopping 1000Nm accessible to the right foot via a transverse sequential seven-speed automatic transmission. Performance should remain identical as well with a 0-100kmph sprint in around 3.3seconds and a top whack of 370kmph.
Whether the Roadster will get the hardcore Benny Caiola (BC) version is unsure as yet, but the Italian supercar maker can always bring that variant later to up the ante of this exotic Roadster. Guess we’ll have to wait further for the Geneva Motor Show which is two months from now for additional details on the Huayra Roadster.
