Ford has announced the recall of their compact SUV, the EcoSport, due to two issues that have been found concerning the car. Approximately 48,700 units of the EcoSport have been affected and Ford has started contacting their customers for the recall.
Ford says that the bundle clips on the fuel and brake lines of the diesel EcoSport (48,000 units) manufactured from April 2013 to June 2014 are suspected and hence will be replaced by the company. Around 700 cars, built between January and February 2016 have been affected by another issue regarding the mounting bolts for the rear seats. The EcoSport cars with 40/60 split rear seats have been affected. According to Ford, the 40 per cent part of the seat may have been mounted using nuts and bolts that do not match with Ford’s material specification.
In both cases, the issues will be resolved free of cost at your nearest dealership. You can verify form your nearest dealer if your car is amongst the affected. Ford has assured that no customer complaints, mishaps or injuries have been reported from these concerns.
