Mahindra has achieved a remarkable milestone with its most recent off-road SUV, the Thar Roxx. While the booking of the model commenced today at 11 AM, the carmaker has received an overwhelming response with over 1.76 lakh bookings within 60 minutes. Notably, the deliveries are slated to begin during Dussehra, which is in the coming weeks.
The five-door Mahindra Thar Roxx is available in six variants, namely, MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L, with prices starting from Rs. 12.99 lakh and Rs. 18.79 lakh for the RWD and the 4x4 versions, respectively. While RWD is standard for both petrol and diesel versions, the 4x4 is exclusively available with the diesel-powered variants of the Thar Roxx.
Furthermore, the 4X4 version also benefits from a new Mocha Brown interior theme, which is not available in the petrol or RWD variants. Under the hood, the Thar Roxx is available with two powertrain options – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine with a six-speed manual and an automatic torque converter unit.
Currently, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has two mainstream competitors in the form of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the Force Gurkha five-door in the off-road SUV segment.
