The upcoming Toyota Etios Cross will be made available in four variants-two petrol and two diesel, of which the former includes two engine options while the latter is the 1.4-litre D4D unit that powers the standard Liva hatchback and Etios sedan.
The petrol engined offerings are are the G and V variants of which the base version is the former and it is powered by a 1.2-litre unit that produces 79bhp and 104Nm of torque while the latter gets the 1.5-litre unit that produces 90bhp and 132Nm of torque. The diesel engined offerings are the GD and VD variants, both are powered by a 1.4-litre unit that produces 67bhp and 170Nm of torque. All engines have been mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Its most noticeable feature is the contrast coloured body kit with roof rails. Standard features across all variants include diamond cut alloy wheels, power windows, tilt adjust for the steering, 2-DIN music system with AUX-IN and USB and leather wrapped steering.
The V/VD variants also get chrome inserts for the exterior door handles, steering mounted audio controls, Bluetooth compatibility for the music system, silver accents on the steering and gear knob, ABS with EBD which is standard for all variants except the base G petrol variant. The Etios Cross is being offered in eight shades blue, grey, sliver, orange, black, white, red and beige and this is almost certain that the body cladding will remain the same shade across all colour options.
We expect that Toyota will price the Etios Cross in the range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh and will launch it within this month. It competes with VW Cross Polo, Fiat Avventura which will be launched by the end of the year and the Ford EcoSport and the Renault Duster.
