It’s official, Nissan will launch the Terrano for the Indian market at a function in Chennai on October 9. The Renault Duster-based compact SUV was unveiled for the Indian market on August 20 with its variants and features going live on the official website a week later. We have already driven the car and you can find links to our written road test and video review below. It has the same underpinnings and engine line-up as its French sibling but features a revised design.
The Nissan Terrano will be offered in six variants (one petrol and five diesel) and with three engine options as well as two gearboxes. The Japanese automaker is offering the Terrano in six shades; pearl white, blade silver, sapphire black, sterling grey, bronze grey and fire red. During the launch, Nissan had announced that the Terrano would be priced below Rs10 lakh.
Bookings for the compact SUV began on the first of September and we expect that deliveries for the car should begin a few days after the launch. When launched, the Nissan Terrano will compete with the Ford EcoSport and obviously the Renault Duster. We expect that Nissan will price the Terrano Rs 60,000 to Rs one lakh more than the equivalent variant of the Duster.
