Just a few days ago we had reported that Mahindra may name their new sub-four meter MUV (currently known as Mini Xylo), the Quanto. The company has now officially confirmed that the new car will be called the Quanto and the launch will be in the second half of September.
Mahindra has confirmed that the name ‘Quanto’ has been coined with the aim of conveying a sense of space and power inherent in the product. The new MUV will be the smallest passenger vehicle in the Mahindra range, with the length and engine specs making it eligible for small car tax rates. We also disclosed few other details of the upcoming car through our sources and friends in the industry – Click Here for more details.
Speaking on the Quanto, Dr Pawan Goenka, president, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra, “Customer centric Innovation has always been at the heart of any product development at the Mahindra Group. With the Quanto, Mahindra is aiming to fill a need gap in the Indian automotive market for a versatile and compact SUV. We are confident that with its unique value proposition, the Quanto will carve out a segment for itself in the market. The Quanto will cater to the needs of young urban India who enjoys an active lifestyle. We expect the Quanto to offer an exciting upgrade at a premium to customers who are otherwise looking for premium diesel hatchbacks or entry level diesel sedans."
