The Jaguar XE will be launched in India on February 3 during the Auto Expo 2016. All the Jaguar showrooms across India are accepting bookings for the new entry-level sedan, which will be available with two petrol engine options.
The new XE will sit below the XF sedan in the Jaguar range and take on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4. Jaguar has confirmed that the XE at the moment will be available in two derivatives of the 2.0-litre petrol engine. The less powerful of the two will deliver 197bhp, while the other will be tuned to produce 237bhp.
While there is no confirmation on the booking amount, the dealerships are taking a token of around Rs 1 lakh to book the sedan. The Jaguar XE will be assembled in India and the features list for the sedan will include panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, navigation, infotainment unit with Meridian Sound System and surround cameras.
