Nissan, the Japanese manufacturer, has big plans for India and will certainly want to make its presence felt at the Auto Expo. Nissan, along with Datsun, will bring a bunch of cars to the Expo with the highlights being the GT-R, the Nissan X-Trail, the Datsun Go-Cross and most probably a production version of the Redi-Go concept.
Yes, the GT-R will finally come to India, officially. Nissan had been planning for a long time to get the four-wheel-drive supercar that smashed the Nurburgring record. Along with the GT-R, you will also get to see the all-new Nissan X-Trail SUV. The Nissan India line-up of the Terrano, Sunny, Micra and Micra Active will also be present.
Nissan will also bring their new development, the EPORO robots, that have been built based on future concepts of mobility. The robots have a 30-degree viewing capability and can communicate with each other and move in a file or interact at junctions to avoid collisions. This technology can be applied to autonomous cars or for anticipatory safety devices in production cars.
At the Datsun stall, you will be able to have a peek at the Datsun Go+ based crossover – the Go-Cross. We have already seen the concept in the flesh in Japan and would certainly like to see it here. We also expect Datsun to showcase the production version of the Redi-Go small car concept. Datsun, as a brand may be new to India but it has quite a legacy across the globe. The Datsun 510 rally car that won the African Safari Rally in 1970 will also be on display.
