Nissan India has officially started accepting orders for its latest flagship SUV, the X-Trail. Customers can book the three-row SUV by paying a token amount of Rs. 1 lakh. The X-Trail will be offered across a single variant and three colour options – Pearl White, Diamond Black, and Champagne Silver. Meanwhile, the prices of the SUV will be announced on 1 August, 2024.
The Nissan X-Trail is equipped with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder VCT engine mated to a CVT gearbox. This motor is aided with a 12V mild-hybrid system, thus resulting in a power output of 160bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. Moreover, it has three drive modes and steering modes- Eco, Standard, and Sport.
Coming to the interior, the cabin of the X-Trail, both in terms of looks and features feels utilitarian and purposeful. It comes loaded with an eight-inch infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a wireless charger. Moreover, the steering wheel is leather-wrapped with a digital instrument panel behind it. Other features on offer include a 360-degree surround camera, panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, seven airbags, and manually adjustable front seats.
As for the competition and prices, the Nissan X-Trail, being a CBU, is expected to carry an asking price of Rs. 28 lakh to Rs. 32 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, the model will find rivals in the form of the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster, Hyundai Tucson, and even the Mahindra XUV700 and the Tata Safari.
