Nissan Motors yesterday unveiled its global compact car at the 85th Geneva Motor Show. The Micra is built on the new V platform and is expected to change fortunes for the company.
Officials informed that the car would roll out from five plants - Thailand, China, India, Mexico and one other as yet unspecified location — starting with Thailand later this month.
The Chennai plant which is expected to be inaugurated this month will start the Micra production in May and will be availabe in the Indian market thereafter.
The Micra is expected to be priced competitevely and in the Indian market, the car is expected to be pitched against Maruti Ritz, Swift, Hyundai i20, Ford Figo, Volkwagen Polo, Chevrolet Beat, Fiat Punto, and Skoda Fabia.
