The Nissan Sunny has been in the Indian market since 2011 and all this while, the car has proved to be one of the biggest sellers for the Japanese carmaker. Although not much of a looker by any means, the Sunny scores well when it comes to practical and efficient motoring, thanks to its spacious cabin and economical range of petrol and diesel engines.
As a part of its mid-life upgrade, Nissan recently introduced a facelifted version of the Sunny in Thailand. Now, the car has arrived in the Indian market at the ongoing Auto Expo. Retaining its impressive space and comfort levels, the facelifted Sunny gets a more upmarket design and better quality interiors.
Upfront, the Sunny facelift gets a sleeker looking pair of headlamps, restyled bumper and a more pronounced grille that looks similar to the one found in the Altima – Nissan’s mid-size luxury sedan sold in the US. At the back, the rear bootlid has been reworked and now has a small spoiler with a stoplight. Inside, the Sunny gets an upgraded dashboard featuring a new steering wheel design.
The facelifted Sunny is expected to hit the showrooms real soon. As for the existing model, Nissan could reposition it soon after the launch of the upgraded Sunny, giving it a slightly lower price tag.
