Nissan has just unveiled ‘JukeCam’, a multipurpose 360-degree dashcamera that also transforms into an action sports camera. With two bespoke mounts – one that’s integrated into the dashboard of a Nissan Juke, and another attached to a helmet, thismeans that the JukeCam is perfect for filming a driver’s experience.
There’s been a rise in popularity of dashboard cameras in the recent years, and these have been used to provide insurers and authorities with evidence in case of any dispute. It saves consumers time and money through insurance costs by using such a device. Nissan’s JukeCam has been developed with 360fly, a manufacturer of 360-degree cameras. It has an "always-on" recording capacity of three hours when used as a dash-cam. Once the JukeCam is detached from the dashboard-mounted base to be used as an action camera, the battery will last for up to two hours.
"Nissan is always seeking to innovate and create new features for its customers, and is a leader when it comes to fitting cameras into cars," said Helen Perry, chief marketing manager, Juke, Nissan Europe. "JukeCam was born out of a desire to create a camera product which fits with the active lives of our customers. It's perfect for use on the road as a dash-cam, but versatile enough to be easily removed to create amazing 360-degree first-person footage of their adventures."
